Each service is designed for people from every walk of life. Whether you have been a believer for a long time, beginning a new walk with God, or remain curious about faith and spiritual matters, LifePointe is a place for you. Our purpose is fueled by a passion to help others enjoy the relevance of God in their lives. Our LPC band delivers high-octane music and worship. Pastor Randy Reed shares uplifting insights to help you with positive life changes as well as inspiration for daily living. Our children’s ministry called KidsPointe meets at the Iowa Children’s Museum where you can drop your kids off (if you have any) and join us a few steps away at the Marcus Theaters in the Coral Ridge Mall at 10 am. Our KidsPointe specializes in safe, fun filled and creative environments each week. Children are presented with a nationally recognized kids Bible program called KIDMO, that is age appropriate and taught in an exciting, interactive manner. Our goal is to allow you to enjoy the adult services while your children enjoy theirs. So dress comfortably and come as you are; from blue jeans, to T-shirts and shorts (unless its winter of course), or if your into the dress and tie thing– everyone is welcome here! Just be prepared for a life-changing experience! our storyIn October 2006 a group of Christian leaders from across the country converged on Cedar Rapids, Iowa with the purpose of launching a brand new church located in the Iowa City/Coralville area. After an extensive national search, Randy Reed was appointed to lead this exciting adventure. After months of continuous planning and reviewing 100 venue possibilities, the ministry’s choice of location became the Marcus Coral Ridge Theaters. This choice location places the church squarely in the local marketplace as well as becoming a part of the areas largest icon next to the University of Iowa. The decision to name the church LifePointe was birthed out of a desire to welcome people from all walks of life, realizing that everyone may be at different crossroads. LifePointe Church is a place where people have an opportunity to investigate and experience the Christian faith in a loving, relevant, encouraging, and non-threatening environment. LifePointe is a church with a heart for all people. With an abundance of churches throughout the community, it hardly seemed like the area needed yet another church; however, research showed that a large percentage of the people in the county didn’t attend church on a regular basis. Thus a vision grew: “Why not create a church that would adhere to inspiring faith and biblical relevance but would be uniquely different from the other churches in the community?” We decided to do something radical. And in doing so, we chose to focus on three main areas: Inspiration: Make LifePointe the most inspirational place anyone can be a part of Excellence: Do everything first rate by providing quality church services Relevance: Share with people how God and the Bible can be relevant for every day life From there, things began moving quickly. On September 23, 2007 110 people attended LifePointe’s first, Sunday morning service at Marcus Coral Ridge Theaters. Over 25 kids attended KidsPointe located at The Iowa City Children’s Museum. The ride has been invigorating and the growth has not ceased. We continue to pray that God will use LifePointe to touch the lives of more and more people throughout the entire area and beyond. Pastors Randy and Charlina Reed, along with the entire LifePointe family, are focused on meeting the needs within the local community and providing ministries and services that help impact every area of life. There is plenty of vision at LifePointe Church-where our motto is “We’ll help change the way you think about church!” our affiliationWe believe in sharing with people from various church backgrounds. Our services are purposely designed to remain non-denominational in focus. However, LifePointe Church has a recognized affiliation with the Free Methodist Church of North America - a group of more than 1500 churches in the U.S. and thousands of members overseas. This affiliation provides accountability and leadership support, while allowing LifePointe Church the autonomy to fulfill its own ministry objectives in ways that will best achieve the mission of reaching people with the life changing message of Jesus Christ. |  |
